“I had Sarah as my postpartum doula and I feel so lucky to have had her support during the newborn phase with my 2nd baby. Knowing how exhausting and isolating motherhood is with a newborn, I sought out Bright Hearts and I am so happy and thankful I did. Sarah was so easy to be with and so comforting. As supportive as a significant other is, to have Sarah come a few days a week and help me carry my mental load was essential for my health and recovery. She would come into my home with a huge smile on her face, ask me how I was, if there was any laundry to be folded or dishes to be done, she would proactively do them. She would hold my son so I could shower, workout, cook dinner or just have a break from being the primary caretaker of my newborn. She helped me figure out and talk through so many things from how to work my breast pump to "do you think it's time to size up his diapers?" And all the other millions of questions that come up during postpartum. When you have a newborn and sometimes days go by when you don't even step foot outside, let alone interact with another adult, it was so nice to have Sarah come and just feel like a friend was there to talk to who understands what you are going through.”
